Tips to make your move day stress free! 

What to think about before your move. 

Parking:
Is there space to park the moving vans undertaking your home move? 

Parking cones may be required in order to block off parking spaces directly outside your house or apartment building on move day. 
For the canton of Basel Stadt, you can order the cones directly through their website. Our customer care team is happy to assist with the organisation of your parking cones for a flat rate fee of 150chf.
Please let us know well in advance if this service is required.

Do you need extra services? 

• ​Do you need lights to be removed or installed at either property?
• Do you need any disposal services before or after your move?
• Will your home move benefit from the hire of an external elevator?
• Do you need painting services or hole filling'
• Do you need to rent boxes or packing material?

Packing Tips:

• Don't overload your boxes
  
• Label all boxes with which room they should go into in the new property
• Pack glass, plates & fragile items with packing paper or bubble wrap 
• Use larger boxes for lighter items like blankets, pillows
  
• Try not to use black sacks or shopping bags for packing. They take up much more space than boxes.
  
• Mark fragile boxes clearly for our crew 
• If you want to avoid a long time of unpacking & sorting clothes, use standing cartons that come equipped with hanging rails. This way, you can remove them from the box and put them straight into your new wardrobe

  Other things to consider:

• Have you confirmed the arrival time for our team on move day?
• ​Ensure there is someone available at both properties to guide our crew on furniture placements etc

• Think about informing your neighbours about your move as a courtesy
• If you are moving a fridge or freezer, ensure they are plugged out and defrosted ahead of time
• Think about where you want your furniture to be positioned in the property to be prepared ahead of move day.
