I want to change address...what can I do?

You must register your change of address with your local Geminde within 14 days of relocating. If you are switching cantons, it may affect your permit so be sure to check out your status.

Generally, switching between BS and BL is considered one and doesnt affect your status.

Things to also change
Phone/Internet provider
Electricity and other household bills
Insurances
Ensuring your children can still attend the same school depending on the new postcode

Waste removal and responsible recycling

I need to put out my rubbish... what can I do?
General household disposals are generally disposed of through the use of Kerrisacke bin bags. You buy them in any local grocery store, most petrol stations and smaller stores. The payment of these covers the bin collection.
Every area has different bin collection days so be sure to check with your local Geminde!

Its also worth noting that recycling is strictly adhered to in Switzerland and they take it seriously. Its recommended to have a multi part trash can for sorting all your waste goods!

For larger disposals, let us take them to the recycling and disposal centre for you! Disposals of all sizes available.

How to make your rental property your own

Swiss apartments can vary greatly from what other Europen or international properties look like, and it can take some time to get your home looking how you want it to. We are here to assist you with a wide range of handyman solutions. Check out our tips on how to make your new home feel like "home".

1. Painting before you move in
Nothing says "new home" like the smell of fresh paint. Most landlords will have the property already painted but the best way to paint is in an empty property.

2. Upgrade the space

From wall mounted TVs to removable cabinetry, we can assist with handyman services of all kinds. Adding photos, mirrors and wall hangings make all the difference to a blank wall.
Storage solutions from clothes to cellar shelving, the options are endless to make your home feel "home".
Our team are here to help with it all.

3. Transform your balcony or garden
Switzerland brings long summer nights and sometimes you just want to sit and watch the city with a cold drink. Think about practical seating solutions with storage underneath. This allows for safe winter protection from the snow and ice.
Solar lighting is a great option along with potted plants, fake grass/tiles and an umbrella for shade.

For those with a bit more space, consider a gas BBQ (lease permitting) or even a movable garden shed to store all your garden items. We can assist with assembly, lawn clean up, power washing, window cleaning and a range of outdoor services.

4. Cute countertop items and throws
Something as simple as a few nice throw pillows and a cute fruit bowl make all the difference. Small changes can make a big difference in making your home feel cozy and unique

5. Shoe Solutions

Where to put all the shoes?!
From hiking boots to sandals, you need all types in Switzerland and some apartments just dont have the space. Check your lease, some properties allow shoe cabinets in the hallway to save you space indoors. Alternatively, you can wall mount shoe cabinets to maximise space.

6. Hire a Reliable Team
You might underestimate the time to get everything right and with todays busy society, we are here to take the stress out of your services.
